Six Reasons To Spend Christmas In The Tropics

Other travel | Comments Off

Christmas usually conjures up images of pine trees covered in lights, stockings hanging over a fire, and children playing in the snow. The last thing most people think about when they think about Christmas is sunshine, bathing suits, and swimming. But why not spend the holiday on vacation somewhere tropical? The following are the top six reasons you should consider spending at least one Christmas in your lifetime in the tropics.

1. Convenience: There is much to be said in getting away from the bad weather driving conditions while trying to make it to the mall to find that perfect gift- not to mention fighting the crowds in the store! Christmastime is supposed to be filled with joy and family, yet it seems every year we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, we forget to focus on the simple aspects of the occasion.

2. Relaxation: Imagine lounging on the beach some place beautiful, like Aruba. Drink in hand, not a care in the world- it doesn’t get much more relaxing than that!

3. Focus On The Nuclear: Family, that is. How wonderful would it be to just have your spouse and kids to worry about for a week? No family dinners to plan, no squabbling with distance relatives you rarely see any other time of the year. Going on a Christmas vacation with just your nuclear family allows you to focus on and enjoy each other, without the many distractions other family members bring.

4. Excuse: With so much to do around the holidays, who has time for company holiday and other types of parties? Somehow, we get caught up in having to attend other events that truthfully, just take up precious time. Disappearing for Christmas is sure to get you out of at least one or two of these events.

5. Weather: For those living in certain regions of the US, getting away from the cold is reason enough.

6. You’re Off Duty: By going away this time of year, you save yourself at least one week of endless hours in the kitchen, cooking for other people! Let someone wait on you for a change. Enjoy tropical cuisine and luscious, fruity drinks, made by the hands of others and served to you while you enjoy your favorite book.
